Chongming Digital Academy adheres to the philosophy of “Virtue Commensurability and Civilization Mutual Learning”. It is committed to promoting the “Ontology of Virtue – Theory of Virtue and Dao”, which has been widely recognized in academic circles and society, and strives to build a new platform for equal exchanges and dialogues between China and the West.
Different from the traditional morality of “pan-moralism”, the civilization of Virtue and Dao is a new type of civilization that pursues equity and matching of rights and obligations, featuring openness, inclusiveness, co-construction, win-win results and sharing. The Virtue and Dao is fully commensurate with the “entelechy” in ancient Greek philosophy; the “innate” world of virtue is exactly the Garden of Eden without “fall”; and the value-based law advocated by Cicero in ancient Rome also embodies the essence of “exemplary virtue”.
Furthermore, the civilization of Virtue and Dao adheres to the concept of “co-governance of the three realms: heaven, earth, and humanity”, which is far more sophisticated than the “pan-centrism” civilization in the West. It can empower the efforts to lead global development and build a community with a shared future for mankind.
